In the past year, Honors students have taken study trips to all six permanently inhabited continents, and an Honors alum is currently working in Antarctica!

Opportunities for Giving

Welcome

Dr. Ernest Smith

NKU’s Honors Program has a track record of enabling our most highly motivated and academically distinguished students to realize their full potential, but with sufficient resources, we could do much more. Repeatedly, we hear students say, “The Honors Program at NKU was the highlight of my undergraduate experience.”

However, as a public university, we find that state support must increasingly focus on the “basic necessities.” For NKU’s Honors Program to achieve national recognition, we need to increase opportunities for our students to excel and distinguish themselves, through means such as international and domestic travel, national presentation of student research, scholarships, and enriched co-curricular activities. As we work toward moving the Program to Honors College status, we seek private donations that will allow us to develop and showcase NKU Honors as the “hallmark of excellence” at NKU. Investments toward higher education are gifts with an infinite life span, capable of impacting multiple generations of students. We hope that potential donors will consider such an investment in the future of our students and the region as a whole.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ernest Smith
